For over a decade, I worked in my late father’s textile accessories factory, supplying elastic bands to clothing manufacturers. It was hands-on, traditional, and deeply rooted in process and pride. I learned how things were made, how quality was shaped, and how important it was to care about the details.

But I was always building for others, supporting other brands, fulfilling other visions. And while I was grateful for the experience, something inside me wanted more.

I wanted to create something of my own, something that wasn’t just useful, but beautiful. Not just functional, but meaningful. Something that could carry stories, not just products.

So I stepped out. As a mother. As a self-made woman. And I started The Q Charm.

It Began with Heartbreak

Back in university, I bought a $480 designer backpack, saved for months, treated it like gold. Within three uses, the leather peeled. It cracked. It shed. It was fake PU leather.

I was devastated. Embarrassed. And furious. That feeling never left me.

So I thought: I would create real leather bag accessories that earned their place in someone’s life: Made to be worn, loved, and remembered, not thrown out after a season.

Then Came Porky

My first dog as an adult. My chaos, my comfort, my best friend. He passed far too young, and I was crushed.

In my grief, I wanted something small I could carry with me. Something beautiful. That reminded me of him. That honored what he meant to me.

That’s when The Q Charm became something deeper: a way to create not just luxury leather bag charms, but keepsakes. Symbols. Tokens of love.

 Why We Exist
